House removals across Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs

Two movers and a truck start at $160 per hour plus GST, with a two-hour minimum and the first 30 minutes of travel each way included. We move studios through to four-bedroom houses across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Northern Beaches and North Shore.

How much does a house move cost in Sydney?

Two movers and a 20m³ truck cost $160 per hour plus GST, a 30m³ truck is $180 per hour plus GST, and a 40m³ truck is $200 per hour plus GST, all with a two-hour minimum.

The rate covers the truck, the fuel, two professional movers and all the equipment — trolleys, straps and protective blankets. There is no separate call-out charge and no equipment hire on top.

An extra mover is $60 per hour plus GST. On anything above a two-bedroom flat, a third mover usually costs less than it adds, because the job finishes sooner.

  • Sundays carry a 25% surcharge on labour — removals, packing and cleaning. Packing material kits are the same price every day.

How long will my move take?

A one-bedroom apartment usually takes 2 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours, and a three-bedroom house 6 to 8 hours.

Stairs, lift bookings and the distance from the truck to your front door move these numbers more than the size of the property does. A ground-floor three-bedroom with a driveway can beat a second-floor two-bedroom with no lift.

We quote on the hours we expect the job to take, not on a flat figure that has to be padded to be safe.

Typical move times by property size
PropertyTypical time
One-bedroom apartment2–4 hours
Two-bedroom apartment4–6 hours
Three-bedroom house6–8 hours

What does travel time cost?

The first 30 minutes of driving each way is included, and beyond that only the extra is charged — a 45-minute drive to you bills 15 minutes.

The same applies to the return leg. If your new place is more than 30 minutes from our Bondi office, the extra time coming back is charged; if it is closer, nothing is.

It replaces the flat call-out fee most removalists apply regardless of where you actually are, which quietly overcharges everyone moving within the Eastern Suburbs.

Furniture removals — single items and part loads

We take single-item and part-load furniture jobs across Sydney at the same hourly rate, subject to the two-hour minimum.

A lounge from a warehouse, a bedroom suite between two addresses, or the contents of one room rather than a whole house — these do not need a full house move booked around them.

The 20m³ truck handles most part loads. If you are only shifting a few large items, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly whether you need us or a courier.

Which suburbs do you cover?

Our office is in Bondi, and we move houses across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Northern Beaches, North Shore, Central Coast and Gold Coast.

Interstate moves are available on request. If another company is a better fit for your job, we will tell you so rather than take the booking.

The first 30 minutes of driving each way is absorbed. Past that you are billed only for the excess, and the return leg to the office is counted the same way.

Most quotes for a house move in Sydney are a single number with no working shown. Ours is an hourly rate, the number of hours we think the job will take, and the things that would change that estimate. If the job runs shorter, you pay less.

Common questions

What is included in your hourly rate?

The rate covers the truck, two professional movers, standard moving equipment — trolleys, blankets and straps — and the loading and unloading itself. Fuel is included. Equipment is not charged separately.

Do you charge more on a Sunday?

Yes. Sundays carry a 25% surcharge and a three-hour minimum instead of the usual two, which makes a 20m³ truck and two movers $200 per hour plus GST, a 30m³ truck $225 and a 40m³ truck $250. Saturdays are charged at the standard weekday rate, so a Saturday move is the cheaper weekend option.

Do you move apartments with stairs or no lift?

Yes. Stairs are normal in Sydney and we handle them at the standard rate with no stair surcharge. Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift when you book, because it changes how long the job takes and therefore what it costs.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry Public Liability and Goods in Transit insurance for standard removalist operations. If you are moving high-value or fragile items, ask us about separate transit insurance, which covers things a standard policy does not.

What items need extra movers or special handling?

Pianos, marble and stone tables, pool tables, large safes and oversized fridges usually need extra manpower or planning. Tell us before the day rather than on it, so the right crew and equipment turn up.

Can you do a last-minute or same-day move?

Sometimes, depending on truck and crew availability. We run 10 trucks, so short-notice jobs are more often possible than not, but call rather than assume — availability is the constraint, not willingness.
