Interstate removals from Sydney and the Gold Coast

We move households anywhere in Australia, with regular runs between Sydney and the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Interstate jobs are quoted per move rather than by the hour, because the drive is the largest part of the cost.

Where do you move to?

We move anywhere in Australia from Sydney, with the most frequent runs going to the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Sydney to the Gold Coast is the route we run most often, and we have a crew and a dedicated phone line at the Queensland end. The same company loads your house and unloads it, rather than handing it to a depot network in the middle.

For destinations we do not run regularly — Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth — we will quote, and if a specialist line-haul operator is genuinely the better answer for your job, we will tell you that instead of taking the booking.

The first 30 minutes of driving each way is absorbed. Past that you are billed only for the excess, and the return leg to the office is counted the same way.

Moving from Sydney to the Gold Coast

Sydney to the Gold Coast is the interstate route we run most often, and it is the same company at both ends — our truck, our crew loading in Sydney, and our own people and a dedicated Queensland number on arrival.

The usual interstate arrangement hands your furniture to a depot network somewhere in the middle. That is where damage happens and where nobody can tell you who is holding your things. We do not do that on this route: the load stays on our truck from the Sydney kerb to the Gold Coast one.

Because we run it often, a Gold Coast move can usually share a truck already heading north rather than paying for one outright, and that is the single biggest lever on what the job costs. A dedicated truck on a date you choose is available and it costs more. We quote both rather than deciding for you.

It is roughly 830 kilometres by road, which is why we recommend full packing on this route rather than the partial packing most people choose locally — furniture that survives twenty minutes across Bondi can shift over a two-day drive.

How is an interstate move priced?

Interstate moves are quoted per job rather than at the hourly rates that apply within Sydney, because the drive dominates the cost rather than the loading.

The quote depends on volume, the two addresses, and how flexible your dates are. A move that can share a truck already heading north costs less than one that needs a truck to itself on a fixed day.

Tell us roughly what you are moving and both addresses, and we will give you a figure rather than an hourly rate you cannot convert into a total.

Is a Central Coast move an interstate job?

No. The Central Coast is billed by the hour like any other area we cover, at $160 per hour plus GST for two movers and a truck, with travel beyond the included 30 minutes each way charged from our Bondi office.

The line between the two is what dominates the cost. Within New South Wales the loading is the job and the drive is a surcharge on it, so hourly billing gives you a figure you can check. On an 830-kilometre run to Queensland the drive is the job, and an hourly rate you cannot convert into a total is no use to anyone — which is why interstate is quoted per move instead.

That also means the things that make an interstate move cheaper do not apply closer to home. Sharing a truck already heading north is worth real money on a Gold Coast job; there is no equivalent on the Central Coast, because the truck goes when you book it.

Is my furniture insured on a long drive?

We carry Goods in Transit and Public Liability insurance, and on a drive of 830 kilometres or more we recommend asking about separate transit insurance as well.

A standard removalist policy and a transit insurance policy do not cover the same things. On a 900-kilometre drive the difference is worth understanding before the truck leaves rather than after it arrives.

How long does a move to Queensland take?

Sydney to the Gold Coast is around 830 kilometres by road, and delivery timing depends on the run schedule and whether your job has a truck to itself.

We give you a delivery window when we quote, and we tell you what would change it. Padding a date to look impressive helps nobody on the day the truck does not turn up.

Most interstate quotes are a single number with no explanation, which makes it impossible to tell whether you are paying for a dedicated truck or a share of one going that way anyway. We would rather tell you which it is, because it is the difference between a firm date and a cheaper price, and only you can decide which matters more.

Common questions

How much does a Sydney to Gold Coast move cost?

It is quoted per job rather than at an hourly rate, because on an 830-kilometre drive the trip costs more than the loading does. The figure depends on how much you are moving, both addresses, and whether your dates are flexible — a job that can share a truck already heading north costs materially less than one that needs a truck to itself on a fixed day.

Do you have a crew on the Gold Coast?

Yes. We have our own crew and a dedicated phone number at the Queensland end, listed with our other numbers in the footer. The same company loads your house in Sydney and unloads it on the Gold Coast, rather than handing it to a depot network in between.

Can you move me interstate at short notice?

Sometimes, depending on whether we have a truck already scheduled in that direction. Short-notice interstate jobs are much more likely to work out if your delivery date is flexible, because it lets us fit you onto a run rather than dedicating a truck.

Do you pack for an interstate move?

Yes, and it matters more on a long drive than a local one. Furniture that survives a 20-minute trip across Bondi can shift over 830 kilometres, so we recommend full packing for interstate jobs rather than the partial packing many people choose locally.

Do you move cars or motorbikes?

Vehicle transport is a separate specialist service and we do not carry cars or motorbikes on our trucks. We can point you at operators who do, and time their pickup to line up with your move.

What if my new place is not ready when the truck arrives?

Tell us early and we will build storage into the quote instead of improvising on the day. Storing a load for a fortnight arranged in advance is far cheaper than a truck and crew waiting at the kerb.
