Office relocation across Sydney and the Inner West

Office moves are charged at the same hourly rates as houses — $160 per hour plus GST for two movers and a 20m³ truck, up to $200 per hour for a 40m³ truck. We handle whole-office relocations, single-floor moves and internal reshuffles across Sydney.

What does an office move cost?

Office relocations run at the same hourly rate as house moves — $160 per hour plus GST for two movers and a 20m³ truck, rising to $200 per hour plus GST for a 40m³ truck.

Commercial jobs are usually decided by access rather than volume. A ground-floor office with a roller door loads far faster than a third-floor suite sharing one lift with the rest of the building.

Tell us the floor, the lift situation and whether there is a loading dock when you call, and we will tell you which truck and how many movers the job actually needs.

40m³2 movers includedThree and four-bedroom houses, and full office floors$200/hr + GST$220 inc GST$250/hr + GST$275 inc GST
  • An extra mover is $60/hr + GST ($66 inc GST), or $75/hr + GST on a Sunday.
  • Minimum charge is 2 hours Monday to Saturday, and 3 hours on Sundays.
  • The first 30 minutes of driving each way is on us. Beyond that only the extra is charged — a 45-minute drive bills 15 minutes, and the same applies coming back to the Bondi office.
  • Sundays carry a 25% surcharge on labour — removals, packing and cleaning. Packing material kits are the same price every day.
  • Work outside 9:00am–7:00pm carries the same 25% surcharge, which is how an office move happens overnight without losing a working day.

What the rate includes

  • The truck and fuel
  • Two professional movers
  • Trolleys, straps and protective blankets
  • Loading and unloading
  • Disassembly and reassembly of standard furniture

Why workstations need experienced movers

Desks and workstations are the part of a Sydney office move that most often goes wrong, because modular systems come apart in a specific order and do not go back together in any other.

Screens, cable trays and modesty panels are usually fixed to the desk frame rather than to each other. Taken apart in the wrong sequence, the frame twists and the panels stop lining up.

We disassemble and reassemble workstations as part of the hourly rate. It is not a separate line item.

What kinds of office moves do you do?

We move whole offices, single floors, and internal reshuffles where nothing leaves the building, across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Northern Beaches and North Shore.

  • Whole-office relocations to a new address
  • Single-floor and single-department moves
  • Internal moves where the furniture stays in the building
  • Workstation disassembly and reassembly
  • Rubbish and old-furniture removal at the end of the job

Can we move without losing a working day?

Yes — we work after hours and on weekends for a 25% surcharge, so your team can finish on Friday and start Monday in the new office.

This is the single biggest cost in an office move, and it is not on our invoice. A day of a twenty-person office standing around is worth far more than the surcharge on the move itself.

Overnight and early-morning moves are the usual answer for a single floor. For a larger relocation, a Friday evening start with the weekend to finish and set up is the pattern that works best.

Building access is usually the limit rather than our availability, since most Sydney commercial buildings restrict dock and lift hours. Tell us the building and we will work out what is possible before quoting.

Are you insured for commercial work?

Yes — we carry Public Liability and Goods in Transit insurance, and we supply certificates of currency to Sydney building managers and landlords on request.

Most Sydney commercial buildings will not release a loading dock or a lift booking without seeing a certificate first, and chasing one on the morning of the move is how a move gets postponed.

Ask for it when you book. We will send it straight to your building manager rather than making you forward it on.

Which areas do you cover?

Our office is in Bondi and we cover commercial moves across Sydney, with the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and Northern Beaches all inside the standard travel allowance.

The first 30 minutes of driving each way is absorbed. Past that you are billed only for the excess, and the return leg to the office is counted the same way.

The cost of an office move is rarely the invoice. It is the hours your staff spend not working because something did not arrive, or arrived in pieces. That is the thing worth planning around, and it is why we ask about lifts and docks before we quote.

Common questions

Can you move an office outside business hours?

Yes. Work outside our standard 9:00am to 7:00pm window carries a 25% surcharge, and Sundays carry the same 25% with a three-hour minimum. Saturdays are charged at the standard rate. Overnight and weekend moves are how most offices avoid losing a working day, and the surcharge is almost always cheaper than the downtime it prevents.

Can you supply a certificate of currency?

Yes. We carry Public Liability and Goods in Transit insurance and will send a certificate of currency straight to your building manager or landlord. Ask when you book, because most Sydney commercial buildings will not confirm a dock or lift booking without one.

Do you take the old furniture away?

Yes, rubbish and old-furniture removal can be added to an office move. It is worth deciding before the day, because clearing a floor of dead filing cabinets takes time and time is what you are paying for.

How much notice do you need for an office move?

The more the better, particularly if your building requires a lift or dock booking, which often has to be arranged weeks ahead by the building manager rather than by us. We run 10 trucks, so our own availability is rarely the constraint.

Do you move IT equipment and servers?

We move standard office IT — monitors, docks, desktop machines and printers — as part of the relocation. Live server racks and anything requiring decommissioning should be handled by your IT provider, and we will work around their schedule.
