Yes. We sell material kits sized by property — $210 + GST for a one-bedroom, $345 + GST for a two-bedroom and $550 + GST for a three-bedroom — each with port-a-robes, large and medium boxes, unlimited tape and butcher paper. For four-bedroom properties and larger we book an inspection instead.

What does packing cost?

Packing runs at the same hourly rate as the move — $160 per hour plus GST for two packers — so a packing day is priced exactly like a moving day.

Most people book packing for the day before the move and the move itself on the following morning. Packing and moving on the same day is possible for a small flat, but it makes for a very long day on anything larger.

You do not have to book all of it. Kitchens and wardrobes take the longest and go wrong the most often, so having us do only those two is a common and sensible choice.

Crew size is an estimate. How many packers we send depends on how much there is and how long you have, and we confirm the number when we quote.
Minimum charge is 2 hours Monday to Saturday, and 3 hours on Sundays. It applies to packing booked on its own, not just packing booked with a move.
The first 30 minutes of driving each way is on us. Beyond that only the extra is charged — a 45-minute drive bills 15 minutes, and the same applies coming back to the Bondi office.
Sundays carry a 25% surcharge on labour — removals, packing and cleaning. Packing material kits are the same price every day.

What do packing materials cost?

Every kit includes port-a-robes, large and medium boxes, unlimited tape and butcher paper. Buying a kit works out cheaper than buying the same materials piecemeal, and it means you are not driving back for more tape on packing day.

Port-a-robes are the part people underestimate. Hanging clothes go straight from the wardrobe into them and straight back out at the other end, which removes an hour of folding at each address.

Unpacking means we place your belongings where they go rather than leaving sealed boxes stacked in the hallway, and it is charged at the same $160 per hour plus GST as the packing.

It is the part of a move people most often skip and most often regret. The boxes come off the truck quickly; it is the fortnight of living out of them afterwards that costs you.

We can also take the empty boxes and packing material away at the end, so you are not left with a garage full of cardboard.

How should I pack if I am doing it myself?

Pack heavy items like books into small boxes and light items like bedding into large ones, and label every box with the room it belongs in — that is what lets a Sydney crew unload straight into the right rooms.
